The case of a retractable tape measure in red enamel, with a short brass tongue coming out of the slot. The tongue is a separate piece and it moves a little, which was not the plan but turned out to be the best thing about it.

The heaviest piece in the range alongside the claw hammer, and the boldest colour we use. Red enamel over brass fires slightly warm, closer to a post-box than a pillar-box.
